Two brothers, Kalliste and Magnide Drexler, are invited to join the still-new country of Kirthed by Kane Kirthed, son of Adam Kirthed. They are young but almost insultingly talented within the field of nanotechnology, and were scouted out directly for their skill. Their assignment to develop a cure-all solution to eradicate sickness and ill health, using nanobots. They accept without hesitaton.Months turn into a year, and the brothers have made impressive progress. And yet, at the brink of completion, they fail. Impatient and overworked, Kalliste pushes their instruments (and himself) too far, and their prized experiment, a red fluid emulsion glowing bright and hot called TYPE, blows up in their face. Quite literally. Kalliste is seemingly vaporized, and Magnide is struck in his abdomen with a flyaway shard of glass, falling to the ground and bleeding out.

The puddle of TYPE that had spilled out onto the ground enters Magnide's body through his wound. The body, after some time, slowly rises, softly-glowing red hair and red stained limbs lighting the otherwise dark, steamy lab. Kalliste's body was gone, and he has woken up in the body of his brother. Magnide is dead.Unable to cope with having killed his brother, and still seeing Magnide's face in his own reflection, he fashions a mask, covers himself up as best as he could, and leaves the facility he was working in, en route to the outskirts of Babylsgard, the capital of Kirthed. There he remains, wandering, persisting against his wishes, for over 100 years. TYPE was a success.Seeing himself as a demon for what he did to his brother, Kalliste takes up the title Majin, renouncing his former name.
